How to inspect Sweaters, T-shirts, Jeans, Jackets, Pajamas, Jerseys, Pajamas, Wetsuits, Hotsuits, Knitwear etc.?

2. The on-site checking procedures for soft-line product inspections are as follows:

  • Thread ends
  • Color differences and shifting
  • Fabric defects checking
  • Order specs
  • Foreign objects like broken pins, human hairs etc.
  • Measurements
  • Stitches
  • Packaging, logos, labels and markings etc.
  • Stains, moulds, odor and insects
  • Special requirements & on-site testing
  • Rub tests, wash tests, seam tests etc.

As an example, the quality inspection protocols would normally like this:

INSPECTION CHECK LIST COMMENTS RESULT
Fabric-weight check for knitting garment with cutting equipment (unit: grams per square meter). This must be Performed from three places on one sample or from the bulk fabric available. Mark whether the sample was ironed before the test-A result within +/-5% of the clients requirements is acceptable -3 pcs ( Pcs)--克重检验 FAILED
Count and record the number of stitches per inch

1，Perform wrong size checking and assortment check on all inspected cartons-1,Check the size label on the garment & compare with the indicated on polybag and cartons. No size or color mistakes should be observed in the cartons.
2, when inspector conduct the measurement, they should select one sample/each size that meet specification. And keep them separately as “good dimension sample”
3, As check the workmanship, inspector should check the samples by size. and put all the sampls with same size together, then put the “good dimension sample” on the top to check if have any wrong size found.混装检验		 FAILED
Barcode scanning Test-The sample size for each type of the barcode should be scanned as following:

- Barcode label on products

- Barcode label per carton:		 PASSED
3M Adhesive test for all markings, printing and logos found-The printing, markings & logos easily peel off. For example: on surface of hardwares, heat transfer label, printing care label, etc.（3M胶带测试） PASSED
FABRIC STRETCH (SEAMLESS ITEMS)
- CHECK THE FABRIC HAS CORRECT STRETCH (ITEMS MUST BE STRETCHY. WE HAD SOME ITEMS RECENTLY FROM THE SUPPLIER THAT DID NOT STRETCH ENOUGH TO WEAR COMFORTABLY).
面料弹力(无缝物品)
-检查面料是否有正确的弹性(物品必须有弹性。我们最近从供应商那里买了一些穿起来不舒服的衣服)。		 PASSED
Perform a carton drop test on the export cartons:10 times(1 corner 3 edges 6 faces)-3 cartons N/A
Zipper resistance test
The zipper should be easy to closed and open (should pass resistance test) and should not block half way of the opening or closing -II

Symmetric check- check if the sleeves, collar, shoulders , pocket design, etc. are symmetric- check if the garment twist and measure the difference if found
对称检查-检查袖子、领子、肩膀、口袋等设计是否对称-检查衣服的捻度，如果发现有差异就测量一下		 PASSED
Smell check-check if there are any strong offensive odor-II(鼻子闻下是否有气味) PASSED
Zipper seam tension test-II拉链车缝检验

- CHECK THE ZIPS FUNCTION WELL AND SMOOTHLY
- MUST BE SMOOTH AND EASY TO USE, MUST NOT GET CAUGHT OR BREAK
zippers on the jackets are strong and reliable. Previously from this supplier we had many problems with failed zippers. Either the zipper failed or the stitching to hold the zipper in placed came undone.

Seaming strength test-Test the strength of the seams by hand. especially on sideseams ,armhole, pockets.
strength test along seam to check stithes if broken.
接缝强度测试用手测试接缝的强度。尤其是在侧翻、袖孔、口袋上。沿缝进行强度试验，检查缝是否断裂		 PASSED
